Occupation: Barber/Farmer
Website: www.JParhamFarms.com Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 4 What was your favorite club or activity in high school?: Agriculture Assistant - Advance Screwing Off What type of car did you drive in the 70's?: Fiat Who was your favorite teacher at Enka High?: Jim Whitmire Tell us what you have been doing for the last 30 Years: I was married briefly from 1985-1990 and was lucky to have had 2 children Jacob, now age 20 and Kaylor, age 19. Jacob has Down's Syndrome and is in his last year in the PEP Program at T C Roberson. He is a great kid and a big help to me on our farm Kaylor is a sophomore at UNC-Greensboro majoring in Speech Pathology and Dance. I am very proud of her beauty both inside and out. I remarried in 1995 to my wife, Jennifer. We have 2 children, Levi, age 12 and Jocie, age 8. Levi is in 7th grade at Enka middle and plays soccer and basketball. He is rather full of crap just like I was at his age. Jocie has been my easiest child to raise. She is kind hearted and sweet. I guess she takes that after her mom. I have been working as a Barber since 1980 in the barbershop owned by my parents in east Asheville. I still live on the same road I grew up on. I bought my grandparents home and run a small farm there. I keep about 600 chickens and sell eggs to local restaurants. I also have cattle, goats, sheep and ducks. I use the sheep and ducks to train Border Collies. I do sheep herding demonstrations at the Folk Art Center, Biltmore Estate, and at several schools in the county. My wife is a 1991 graduate of Reynolds High School, so when you see her, don't mistake her for my oldest daughter. See you all at the reunion. Please share one of your best (or most humorous) memories of high school: One day Ms. Barbara Whitmire went out of her room and while she was gone, Marvin Rathbone put a condom on the outside doorknob. She stood outside the room and was hollering and wouldn't touch the doorknob. She blamed it on me then and still does now when I see her. |
